|
|
| Hello all, I am new to the forum. I have been using Jamstix for about a month now and have been getting great results. However, one quirky thing I have found is that the hi hats often don't play on beat 4 when i creat a new song. I find i have to manually paste them in after. I am using the rock 8ths style with Phil but I have tried a few other drummers with the same result. Any suggestions? |

Please send me a song file of an example of this problem (Save Song in song menu) plus tell me a bar# where the problem appears. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I've reviewed your file and here is the deal:
The hihat on the 4+ beat is missing because you've set the groove weight of that beat to 'syncopated' as you can see by the missing small white circle that is on all + beats except 4+. You can fix this by going to Groove Weights->Reset To Default in the song menu.
Please also note that you are using 'Charlie' with 'Skipped Hihats' active. This means that hihat notes on beats with a snare hit will be suppressed during playback (they are still in the bar editor though). This is a special characteristic of Charlie. If you don't want that, set 'Skipped Hihats' to zero. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph! thank you very much for the quick response. I am glad to hear that there is a quick solution. Groove weights is an area that I haven't had a chance to explore much yet. Thank you for your patience. That is a 100% record of where I have been stuck and there is a logical solution within the program settings to resolve it.
BTW, I have been using Cubase 4 with WinXP and have had no problems. thanks for the great product.
