I would like to improve the drum track from songs I already have created before getting Jamstix. These were originally done as midi tracks via Linplug's RM1V.
I know that different kits in RMIV use different mappings that don't fit perfectly with GM drum mapping.
I've found the key txt file that shows the Jamstix mapping for the Standard acoustic kit.
Do all Jamstix kits map the same way? I would prefer to avoid remapping my existing midi file to match the standard Jamstix kit and then choose a different Jamstix kit and have to remap again!

Also, if I choose to drag and drop a Jamstix song and put it into my sequencer does it export the last version that Jamstix played? I understand that each time Jamstix plays it could, for example, play slightly different fills.

Thanks

Until you get a better answer you can do this.In JS kit window and on any of the sounds you can change the midi note number therefore you can make a kit up that is assigned the way you like it to match your midi drum files. You can then use this as your Template kit and change sounds in it to make up other kits that have,"Your" midi drum track assignments.

Sheppol
Thanks. I new I could do that but the various drum tracks from RM1V I will be using have different mappings for each kit! I wanted to know if I remapped all of these to a Standard Jamstix mapping shown in the keytext file in the Jamstix documents, whether every Jamstix kit is mapped the same way.
I could go through every kit I've got and click on each kit element to see the key mapping but this would take quite some time.
Ralph - I guess you will know the answer to this straight away.

Thanks

Also when I want to create my own groove would I be right in thinking that Jamstix generally tends to use a velocity of about 100 for kick and snare and then increases this to about 120 for fills etc?
I've looked at a few songs I've done using Jamstix's brain, rather than any programming of mine, and this seems to be roughly the norm.

Most Jamstix kits are mapped the same way.

Yes, the versions can be different and the latest version is always exported.
