After installing, only the manual shows up in the programs menu. Running on Windows XP.

This is a VST program..not a stand-alone application. You need to open it in your sequencer of choice...ie Cubase, Sonar etc...

Thanks. It's not showing up in the VSTi menu on Reaper either. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong in Reaper. The instructions for loading the kits just said click on the Jamstix icon, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to find this.

Reaper/Options/Preferences/VST section and add the path using the ADD button and navigate to your Jamstix2 folder so Reaper knows where to find the jamstix2.dll it needs to load.

Then use the Clear cache and rescan option whilst there.

Then you can make a new track in Reaper and add Jamstix Via the FX button.

When JS loads pick a basic song to start with to get used to it.Choose the Rock one.
Then in JS pick the Jam No Input option.

Then if you record on another track some keyboards or something JA will play along to it.This will get you started.

If you alreasy have some drum midi files you can load one of those into a track and set JS to Drum Module mode and it will play the midi notes so long as you load the midi track onto the same track as JS in this case.

There's loads of decent free midi drum tracks about to get started if you need them like,
