Hey friends,

Was trying to play a recorded midi drum track last night, and placed JS in MIDI drum Module mode, and some of the sounds didn't sound right. I wondered if any of you guys had a midi instrument key assingment, if you know what I mean. I want to see if the instruments are aligned correctly. Or maybe not all the instruments are included in JS as a Drum module. Thanks in advance.

If your track is a GM track then make sure 'Map GM' is checked in JS2. If the track was produced by Jamstix itself, then leave the box off.

As always, thank you Ralph. I made this midi file as I was playing with One Man Band triggering a SFZ GM soundfont. I like working this way, because it helps me build a song base pretty fast. Then I like to use JS to remake the drum track and make it sound real. Thing is, I might have had the midi output in Ableton for that midi track 10 drums, be still sending to the SFZ midi track and the JS track both at once. I didn't check that.

Reason, I also wanted to know the key assignment was to have an idea why some sounds sound odd. But then again, it might be for the above reason. Thanks Ralph, every day when I play this awsome program I thank the Lord for such a blessing and for your continued blessing to you and your company. I just hope it doensn't get too CPU hungry someday where I can't play it in my old PC. But so far, so good. It truly is the most awsome software I have ever used.

Thank you for your kind words.

Try the 'Map GM' and you can also find a MIDI key map for the JS2 default mapping in the 'docs' folder of your install.
