The manual says it will take bar data and save it to bar groove. It then loads the Import style into the current part, sets it to JS2 groove and loads the bar groove data. This is a quick way to turn a bar into a style to groove on.
It is not very obvious what is going on here. I was expecting to be able to give the new style a name, save it, and be able to see it in the styles list.
Is this function just working on the current part? |

The function does not save a style file. It does exactly what you've quoted from the manual. It does the equivalent of the following manual steps:
- save bar as 'Bar Groove'
- load 'Import' style
- set style to JS2 mode
- load 'Bar Groove' file
It is merely a shortcut. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

For me it doesn't seem to work. I modified the Jazz Waltz style a bit and had difficulties getting jamstix to play my modified groove (it kept going back to the Jazz Waltz), so I thought that turning it into a groove might help. I made a perfect bar and chose turn groove into a style.
However when I hit play everything in the bar is deleted and nothing is played |

Can you send me the project and the bar# where you did that? Also, when editing a good bar, you may want to 'Save Bar' just so you have a backup copy. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
