Formerly I ran JS1 in Sonar 7 XP32 on a 64bit machine. No problem. I just installed Vista 64, running Sonar 7 in 64 bit mode. I installed JS2 and it shows in the plug manager. When I go to insert JS 2 into a track, it opens, but can do nothing beyond that. When I try to Install my drum paks.... fails, with error statement (bit bridge error). When I try to "load" a basic kit..... JS 2 disappears from the screen, and Sonar 7 freezes.... Please advise. Thank you. Wm Messner

I may have found the issue..... Sonar seems to have occasional difficulty authorizing VST plugs.... what I did was open a demo version of Chanier VSTplug player...... installed JS2 there, installed all the dum packs. Then closed..... then when I ran the plug manager in Sonar, and opened it in a session, JS2 opened, with all paks installed...... I assume things will continue to work..

Also, make sure you are using Jamstix 2.2

Just curious if this continued to work for you. I'm having this exact same problem going from the same setup that you did, to a tee. When I installed Jamstix 2, it worked for a couple of times and then when I'd go in to Sonar at a later point, I'd try to insert the synth and it would just hang endlessly (I think it stuck on the bit bridge). Cakewalk's response was "make sure you have the latest patches and if that doesn't work, reinstall the 32-bit version of Sonar". I don't really like that answer. I'll have to try that plug player you mentioned.

As an FYI, this is still a problem for me with Sonar 8. Basically, Jamstix works the very first time it is installed on Sonar 8 (64-bit) in Vista x64 but then locks up and never works again after that. I really like this program, but it may be time to move on. I'm tired of having to compromise either Vista or Sonar just to get this thing to work.

Sorry for your frustration! Please remember that BitBridge is a work-around to get 32-bit plugins (like Jamstix) to work in a 64-bit host. Problems happen with many plugins. Once 64-bit hosts and plugins go mainstream we will be able to provide a native 64-bit Jamstix.

Understood. Thanks for all of your support. It is world class!

One other question...how do I completely uninstall Jamstix? I noticed that some things stay resident on the program. I used the uninstall program and also deleted JS2.ini from the Windows directory. Anything else I need to do?

Thanks,

Matt

Manually delete the 'Jamstix2' folder for complete cleanup.

Ralph,

I know there are many factors involved, but I was able to successfully load and use the Addictive drums demo in Sonar 8 64 w/ Vista 64. Jamstix would always work the first time through after a fresh install, but any subsequent attempt to use it would not work. Where it would crash and lock up is at the point when you try to insert Jamstix as a VSTi into a project. Again, worked fine for the first time and then subsequent attempts would not. I could never get a log file either. Anyhow, I really like your product and hope that it will work with my setup one day.

Thanks,

Matt
