Hi everyone,

I tried to build a simple groove (Even used the machine drummer) and JS2 just WAY overplays it. I dropped complexity and bias down and still it won't play the simple groove I built.

With a drum machine I can build MY basic groove but as we all know it sounds like a machine (dead) If, I have a real drummer I could give him the basic groove (Kicks, HH approach etc) and they would keep that solid and embelish without overplaying (If they wanted to keep the job... lol)

Exactly what do I mean... I have a pop shuffle I want kept solid and want subtle embelishesments like HH tripplets thrown in or a tom here n there, JS seems to "show it's chops" every where it can.

How do I really get JS to be as stale as a drum machine to start and then introduce subtle stuff that will fit in the groove?

ANY help with this is really appeciated, as it is now JS is so out of control to me I can't use it.

I even impoted a MIDI pattern that I knew was a basic ho hum pattern and JS went wild on it even with tweaking the bias power complexity etc.

thanks

I'm new to JS so still on a learning curve myself.Couple of things come to mind.Pick a basic drummer like,"Charlie" and as you have said switch off all the adding beat/accents/fills etc.Only load the Rock song template for starters.

Another way is to just use JS in Drum Module mode and import your favourite midi groove and edit manually or them mix-and-match e.g where you want to use JS brain just pick that section?

Can you send me a 'Save Song' (song menu) that shows the 'overplaying'?
