congrats on the release of Jamcussion, it was worth waiting for (now up to us to learn to use it Smile

The big question: what's first on the development list now? Jambass? Jamstix for Mac? Jamstix 3.0 with complete redesign of the UI?

But for now Ralph, how 'bout a week off? You deserve it I think.... Releasing a new product on a saturday night, and answering questions all sunday long... you're CRAZY Smile

Dirk

Our priorities are affected by market conditions. We'd love to focus 100% on JamBassist but the Mac development is increasing in priority and sucking up major dev resources. I cannot give any details at the moment but at this time we are trying to solve several major issues with the Mac version.

This is completely off-topic, but Ralph I've been wondering- do you just like using the 'royal 'we'', or is Rayzoon actually made up of more than one tireless dev? ;)

Anyway, I second dirk's week off suggestion Very Happy

Rayzoon is more than just me but I am the only code developer at this time. And I also can't seem to be able to delegate the support role...

And, yes, I do need a week off Smile

"We'd love to focus 100% on JamBassist". Ok, sounds good to me!

Being a bassist, I'd still like to suggest Jambrass. The workflow would be to supply it with a monophonic midi file of a brass lick, and the software analyses it ) note lengths, pitch bend etc) and decides if each note is staccato, a fall (midi pitch bend), a straight note, shake, legato, swell, pfp, fpf etc. It then allocates the appropriate sample to each note. User then checks it out and adjusts where necessary. Then press a button to take the lick from a mono (trumpet?) line to be played by trumpet/sax/sax/trombone with the A.I. thinning out the bass parts if they are too busy.
So, the work of hours condensed into a few minutes.
Jambrass2 then analyses polyphonic midi files for some groovy Glen Miller action (or other styles like Tower of Power).

I may have to write this myself if no-one else does!

Bravo! Very Happy For me, this is the BIG one and I'll be more than happy to pay any reasonable cross grade price.

Good luck with the coding,

Joey

Ralph I understand you being overworked and running out of time with all you are trying to accomplish and I love JS3 and Jamcussion, but I put off buying Steinbergs Bass Agent (which they now no longer make) it seems around two years ago, because of wanting the interactivity that was supposedly coming between JS2 and JBassist, so I am still "patiently" waiting on Jambassist to come out. I hope that you will somehow find a way to release this program sometime soon.
But no matter what thanks for the awsome products you have given us with the best tech support in the market at a very reasonable price.
I'm still a very loyal supporter here.

May God Bless Your Day,
Russell

I think Ralph has enough on his plate for the moment;-)
Personally I'd like that Jamstix mac version so I would be fully xplatform & portable - Win 7 x64 desktop + OSX SL laptop

re: Jambassist I've found the following tools make a great jammbass to go with JS3.

Sound Engine: Spectrasonics Trilian (Incredible sounds/articulations, FX, Multimodes, plus a useful humanize mode)
Control engine: Ableton Live Clip Mode
Bass Content: Midi bass libs like Bottom's up, Hand program bass lines, or convert to midi via melodyne
Midi Interface: Launchpad, Nocturn, iTouch or NanoKontrol

Boogie on!

If Ralph ever gets time to do anything but Jamstix, I would suggest JamInstrument. Not JamBassist, JamBrass or JamOrgan ... But just an instrument in a broad sense. Drums are different and are usually treated differently from all other instruments in a midi context, but all other instruments could be included in one single piece of software.

I would suggest using the Jamstix concept. Bars, an arranger for verses, chorus etc. and different players like we have drummer models now. Then one player could be a bassist, another the organ player etc. You get the idea, I hope ...

I know there are programs like Band in the Box, Jammer Pro. But I want a vst instrument I can insert in a track in my DAW, and I only want it to play a single instrument. Organ is on the top of my list. But I guess bass would be the most requested, it's just that I can play the bass guitar myself.
