I want to create a drummap for jamstix2 that will not load any samples and will not depend on a subhost either. I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I loaded an empty kit to start from scratch, but it seems the only way I can assign a kit piece to a midi note is by either selecting one of the jamstix internal sounds or else specifying a subhost use, and only then can I specify a midi note.
is that a limitation of the program or a limitation of my understanding on how to use it?
Generally speaking I am using Jamstix without any internal sounds. I don't want them loaded into RAM and ideally if Jamstix2 can turn off internal sound processing altogether to reduce any related overhead, that would be ideal too. Jamstix1 had a toggle for turning off completely internal sounds.
I use Superior2 most of the time, but I don't want (can't) subhost it. It is hosted in my DAW. More specifically, I am on a Mac and I am using Crossover to host Jamstix2, which works terrifically, but I want to use midi-only out of jamstix2, sending the midi back to my main DAW where Superior is hosted. This all works without problem except that i can't figure out how to create a drummap that is midi-only. |
