|
|
| Anybody had luck adding Jamcussion to an already existing pre-Jamcussion song? Maybe I just need to read the manual another time. Right now, it looks like -- when I try to re-load a kit with the Percussion filter (to load the additional Jamcussion sounds) -- it still doesn't load the additional percussion sounds (I'm using the JS2 Big Kit)... |

Hi Mark
If you select the Jamcussion Icon, then select the Kit Menu/icon, then load the one of the Jamcussion kits from the list.
Then add the the jamcussion style and drummer from the song menu.
Your original Drum set kit, style and drummer stay as before.
I hope this helps _________________ john-studio64

well, on my computer it doesn't... I'm running jamstix in Cubase 4, and when trying to add a percussion kit, the drum kit disappears. When trying to reload the drum kit in the drummer part, the percussion kit disappears from the percussion part, leaving you with 12 empty slots saying "right click to (something)" (I'm at work right now).
OTOH, when selecting a song from the quickstart menu, I do have both drum+percussion kits loaded. |

Hi dirkpiano
I'm using cubase 4 also, so it's not Cubase.
To be honest, it did confuse me initially, but I eventually grasped it.
Come back here when you get home
Do you have the latest version?

Let's do a step-by-step:
- start Cubase
- load project
- open Jamstix interface and click the percussion icon at the top
- open kit window and click 'Load'
- browse to the 'Jamcussion' kit folder and select the 'Latin' kit
That should do it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Thanks to studio64 and Ralph. I'm away from my DAW right now. However, it looks like I have to switch to another kit (Ralph's comment: "browse to the 'Jamcussion' kit folder and select the 'Latin' kit"). So there's no way for me to just stick with the JS2 Big Kit and add the Jamcussion percussion elements -- I actually have to change to another kit (I like the current drum mix)? Also, though it probably doesn't make any difference here, I'm using Sonar 8. Thanks again! |

Think of it is as two kits. If you are in 'drumset' mode (Drumset button active) loading a kit affects the drum set kit (like Big Kit etc.). When you are in Jamcussion mode, you load a Jamcussion kit into the second kit part, which does not affect what you have already loaded into the drumset kit. In other words, loading 'Latin' in Jamcussion mode will not change your current 'Big Kit' assignments. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Note to john @ studio64 -- I guess you said basically the same thing as Ralph. Sorry I missed that. But thanks! |
