Using HomeStudio, but awkward for my use, since my real sequencer is on another machine. What host does a good/flexible/accurate job of getting/sending midi & audio with JamStix?

energyXT is a good stand alone host as well as a good seqencer, its lite and good on resources http://www.xt-hq.com/

Try VSTHost and SAVIHost from Hermann Seib http://www.hermannseib.com/. He also has MidiTrix (a MIDI patching matrix) which works great with MIDI Yoke.

And MiniHost from TobyBear http://www.tobybear.de/.

You'll find considerable power in Plogue Bidule http://www.plogue.com/. Worth checking out for its routing possibilities.
