i am in manual mode, and for some reason it's not playing the fills the same way as it does during preview-- is this because of funkiness/complexity settings, or does that only choose which accents and fills to play? i thought that the fills/intros/endings are constant and not varied--or maybe there's still something wrong with the preview button (i'm using bfd)- i do not have latency issues--
i do happen to be working with an arrangement made prior to update 1.1, and i'm using the latest beta--but i don't think that's what causing this

They should sound the same. Can you elaborate or send a brief MP3 example?

well, i'm almost positive it is still an issue with the preview--they just don't sound right--but if i play the actual arrangement, the fill is good-- what i mean by not sounding right is that they don't sound completely messed up like when there's high latency (before that as addressed), just they're not the same as they're supposed to be-- i know what many sound like without a preview, and it's coming out different--
previously, when i first made the arrangement for the song, i had the following problem with the preview: sometimes the preview would sound the same no matter which fill i was previewing because jamstix was just playing a certain measure which already had a fill on it-- and i wanted to change the fill, but to preview them first-- to be honest with you, i have hardly had any success getting the previews to work the whole time--those times that it has seemed to work consistently have been sort of few and far between-- (as i mentioned, i'm working with cubase and BFD)

I'll check this out with SX and BFD tomorrow

hey, ralph, i'm almost positive i figured out what the problem is--- it's not the previews-- the previews are fine-- when u lower the accent prob. sliders on snare and toms, the fill plays as it does in the preview--but when the accent sliders are raised, the accents seem to be affecting, the fills themselves, (which, presumably, is not supposed to happen)--and the end result is on rhythm, just not the exact fill desired-- if you're still up, tell me what u think

The preview function suppresses snare and tom accents and this produces the difference between preview and real play. We'll fix this in the next update.

is it possible to add a function which suppresses the tom and snare accents on fills in real play(not just in the subsequent measures, for which there already is such a function) so that u have the option of hearing the fills the way u do in the previews now? also, it seems like other parameters are changing the exact sound of the fill, such as high hat probability, and kick before and after 16th probability--unless i am mistaken--maybe my suggestion could take into account these factors as well in order to reproduce the sound of the fills the way they are now-

They do not influence the fills. Some fills do have variations that make them slightly different each time they play. As far as the accents are concerned you have two options:

- use the accent MIDI automation parameters to drop them during the fill bar

- drop the sliders in the rhythm tab, play the fill and make sure it sounds as you want it, then lock the fill bar and raise the sliders in the rhythm tab back up.

sorry, one more thing-- i tried to export my entire song to audio, and it's taking forever, whereas it usually takes a maybe fifteen seconds -- i know that the problem maybe unrelated, just Jamstix is basically the only thing in my system that keeps changing with new updates, and i was wondering if u think this may be due to changes made to jamstix-- i know some VST plugins require u to perform a "real-time export", but until now Jamstix did not need it--( this is btw the first time i exported a song since before version 1.1)

No change for me here. Jamstix does not require real-time and I'm exporting all the time through all versions.
