Hi,

I'm still very new to using Jamstix. I did get through the tutoral I found online and I think the link is available here as well, so things are looking up (I hope).

I was wondering how I can stop the drums from playing the lead in bars. I've laid the song out and put 2 measures 0 repetitions, but that didnt' work.

Also, I have another song that I would like to use Jamstix for the drums. There are parts where everything comes to a complete stop. Can this be done with Jamstix?

I'm just learning my way around the layout, so if you could provide detailed instructions that would be great!

My first gut instinct from what it sounds like you are trying to do (and I may more than likely be wrong) for the measures you want silence would be to do this:

For the measures in question, set both your style and drummer to 'Silent'. That is what I've done in the past and it gave me the results I was looking for.

If I am indeed wrong, I'm sure that someone will pop up here REALLY soon and correct me, and I'll learn something new too!

Is it the "silent drummer" that you're referring to? If not, I'm not sure where to do this. It's a good idea and it should work. The only thing I'm not sure about is for the full stop, because I'm not sure it is for a whole measure. I'll try it and see.

Lead-in: are you using the lead-in/count-in function of your host or are you just leaving 2 measures of silence in the host?

Silence: 'Silent' will work for full bars(s). If you need less than a bar, left-click on the ticks in the bar editor to force JS2 to leave those ticks silent. They will show a red diagonal line to indicate forced silence.
