Hi
I hope this hasn't been answered elswhere, I have checked.
Anyway my laptop recently decided that it had had enough of life, it was only 18 months old!!! (cheaper to buy a new desktop than a new motherboard). I got everything reinstalled OK and the only problem I had was each time I loaded a project recorded on the old laptop I had to run the Jamstix updater, no real hassle. Now totally out of the blue (I have not installed or uninstalled any software, made any changes etc.) each time I load a project containing Jamstix it says it cannot find the plug-in. So I carry-on loading and sure enough the jamstix tracks are there but empty, however I can insert another Jamstix no problem (but it does ask to run the updater first). I can then see in the original tracks that it now looks OK, but no sound when I play.
Is this a known problem? Should I reinstall JamStix and if I do I assume I wont loose any data as that is saved in the project (I think) ?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks |

You have 3 problems:
1) Message to update. Please look here http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3629 under question #2 for the fix.
2) No sound. Make sure you run the stock kit and BonzoPak RXP2 files via 'Install Pak' in the kit window.
3) Error loading projects. This is very odd. Please load JS2 into a new project, save, close and eload to see if it happens then as well. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the quisk reply Ralph.
1) OK I know this is a dumb question but I have looked in the Jamstix folder and its sub folders but cannot find the jamstix updater?
2) Probably didn't make myself clear, I normally have no problem with sounds. This sound problem happens when the project opens and says it cannot load the dll (although the message gives the correct path to the dll) I insert a 2nd Jamstix and the then the original jamstix track looks ok, that is I can see data in the midi track, but no sound when I play.
3) OK loaded JS2 into a project saved it , closed it, reopened it and got the message about cannot load the dll. Tried another project cloed and reopened, said I needed to run the JS2 updater and it was OK.
One thing to point out. As because previoulsy when I got the message saying you need to run the updater everything seemed to work OK I haver actually run it I assumed it was run automatically after I pressed the OK button on the 'run updater' dialog.
By the way yes I am running Vista.
By the way just opened my project that started getting the no dll problem but it has loaded OK this time (got the run updater message though).
Hope that lot wasnt to garbled. |

Please send me the file rzdlog.txt from your Jamstix 2 folder.
Btw, the 'no sound' issue would be normal if you load a new Jamstix and do not select a quickstart song nor load a kit. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
