Over the weekend I tried out some highly recommended (thanks to kvr) free/donationware dynamics plugins, honestly my expectations were not that high, being used to pretty highend payware.
Some of the candidates were average, but two coders just seem to publish stuff that's amazing - up there with the best commercial stuff imho.

Update:
At http://rekkerd.org/bootsy-plug-ins/ you'll find all Bootsy plugins on one page, there is some great new stuff, too.
Don't take the word "nasty" literally, try them out.
