I am working on a project that, in addition to being shuffled (on the 8ths), is supposed to be very complex in terms of the highthats and certain other sounds. That is, there is supposed to be lots and lots of high hats, sticks and any other "lighter" sounds on the 8th notes, possible sometimes on 16th notes as well. Like I said, it's supposed to be complex, and not simply repeating itself over and over. So I'm looking for the best style and best drummer to use to generate a complex and busy high hat stuff. The kick and snare will be playing a fairly standard 4/4 rhythm (shuffled).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

'Carter' and 'Stewart' do a lot of hihat work. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thread resurection
This is my 1st post, i've just purchased jamstix 2XL & jamcussion and i'm totaly wraped with it!!!!
Is there a section of the brain that controls how busy a drummer is on the hi hats compared to the underlying groove.
Similar to the OP's question i'm wanting to get a busy hi hat feel going over a very striaght kick - snare groove.
Changing the drummer seems to change the whole feel & thats not working for the song.
I'm sure theres a simple way of doing this, i'm still finding my way around in jamstix ( and getting lost )
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
Cheers

Choose the Stewart model. On the Accent tab, push the Accent Hats slider over to the right.
Choose the Carter model. On the Accent tab, push the Double Hats slider to the right.
Have fun! |
