|
|
I am trying to complete my first song with Jamstix 2, and have everything how I want it in terms of the arrangement/fills etc but at times the crashes are nice and loud(how I want them) and at others they sound a bit weak I have tried adjusting the velocity of the crashes that sound weak, to no avail. A lot of the bars are locked, in order to stop Jamstix recomposing any grooves and fills. Why are the crash volumes varying so much? I'm using Cubase SL3 as my host. Any help much appreciated |

Are these automatic end-of-fill crashes (which don't show up in the bar editor) or manually placed crashes? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Both really, with some of the fills a crash didn't occur at the end of them so I manually added them. Also, I'm having a problem in a couple of places, where crashes that I don't want play at the beginning of bars |

If a crash is in the bar editor, check the velocity on the event and make sure it is high enough. If an undesired crash plays that is not in the bar editor, uncheck 'End Crash' in the fill before it. If an automated 'End Crash' fill is too quiet then there are two reasons:
a) song power is too low (check power knob and raise it or raise Min Dyn)
b) crash volume too low (adjust in kit editor) _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph - I've now got rid of the undesired crash but the volume of all the other crashes is still varying Strangely though, I can play the bar once and the crash will sound weaker, but if I play it a second time it will be fine and vice versa I just don't understand it |

Could this be the problem? |

No, that can't cause a strong volume variation.
Please save the song in the JS2 song menu and send me the file. Please also tell me the BPM of your song and a sample bar#/beat # where a crash exhibits this behavior. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
