1. I've figured out how to create a groove in JS2 and have it played by a style/drummer (thanks to an earlier post), but the process seems a bit awkward...
To me, once you create a groove in JS2, you shouldn't have to save and reload it via Groove Importer -- it should just automatically be applied as the groove for that section. Or at least have something like "Save and Apply" as an option so you can avoid the additional steps of having to reload the groove. Does that make any sense? Or am I doing some thing wrong (which is very possible).
2. Along the same lines, when you create your own groove and save the bar, why does it only save in JS2 format. It seems like there should be an option to save as a MIDI file...?
3. I understand that this kind of defeats the purpose of JS2, but if the brain creates one specific bar that you really like, can you copy that *exact* bar (groove, accents, etc) to somewhere else in the song? I tried right-clicking the bar (under the songsheet) and trying to copy/paste in there, but it wouldn't copy the *exact* bar.
Thanks in advance. |

You don't have to turn your hand-edited bar into an import style. You can hand-edit core bars of a part and their content will be applied to the repetition bars. The purpose of the 'Turn Groove Into Style' is to be able to mix&match the groove with other styles and it is also a bit 'safer' for some users who get easily confused with the core bar concept etc.

JS2 is the preferred format as is stores limb information. If you do need a MID format file then drag-&-drop the bar from the timeline to Windows Explorer.

Copy/Paste in the bar menu is the way to go. However, the brain mode (GROOVE,ACCENT,FILL) determines what gets pasted. So if you need the accent and the groove, paste twice with each brain mode. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
