|
|
Hi,
I am still seeing various hangs and crashes with JS2. I recently built a new system in hope that a lot of the issues I had with my old system would be gone now. I went from XP Pro SP3 to Vista Home Premium SP1 and from what I can tell I am still seeing the same issues. Right now I am using JS2 2.2.2 Beta 13.
I attach to Sonar using the Visual Studio debugger, which often tells me exactly where the hang or crash occurs. Here are a few of those:
----------------------------------
Sonar sometimes hangs (with no exception being thrown) when I load a project containing JS2. It is just stuck at the location in the stack below. When I look at the stack in VS, I see the following:
| Code: |
Module: jamstix2.dll
Path: E:\Music Samples\Jamstix2\jamstix2.dll
Address: 16FE0000-17F6F000
16bdff9e()
jamstix2.dll!17d4a36a()
[Frames below may be incorrect and/or missing, no symbols loaded for jamstix2.dll]
jamstix2.dll!17f6bf2d()
ntdll.dll!77a9e1c4()
ntdll.dll!77ad013c()
ntdll.dll!77aa48ae()
SONARPDR.exe!00690074()
|
--------------------------------------------------------
I get the following exception at random times:
| Code: | First-chance exception at 0x294fd626 in SONARPDR.exe: 0xC000001D: Illegal Instruction.
Modudule address: 0x28570000
jamstix2.dll!294fd626()
[Frames below may be incorrect and/or missing, no symbols loaded for jamstix2.dll]
ntdll.dll!7751e1c4()
ntdll.dll!7755013c()
ntdll.dll!7751e503()
ntdll.dll!7751e2b7()
|
--------------------------------------------------------
I always get this exception when I start playback in Sonar. This exception does not crash Sonar, and even though it is a handled exception, it seems wrong nevertheless to access the invalid memory.

Those are just a few. If I come across more I will add them here.

Do you have any hosts other than Sonar 7 on your system? Also, could you try using the ASIO4ALL driver as a reference point in case the problem is driver-specific. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I actually tried using ASIO4ALL in the past and got the same results. Also, if I switch to the WDM driver, I still get the same crashes.
Unfortunately I don't have another host on this system.
