i'm having trouble with missing drum hits during playback. the bar editor shows the hits there, but they're not playing.
at times it seems to be somewhat random, but this afternoon it was missing the same kick hit over and over.
i have 1 gig of memory in my DAW and the cpu meter in cakewalk music creator is only showing about 30% usage.
any help would be appreciated. |

Sounds like reduction due to low song power. Where is your song power knob when the hits are missing? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

actually, i've had it happen at different power levels.
i usually draw an envelope to bring the power up & down during changes from verse to chorus and back, etc., and have had dropouts during both intros, verses and choruses.
i set up my song structure in jamstix, set up my envelopes to pull the power setting up and down as needed, then i render the drum track to a wave file. i perform this process in cakewalk music creator. i import the wave file into n-track for mixing. (i'm using an old version of n-track and jamstix doesn't act right so i use music creator.)
as a stop gap i just pull a few copy and pastes to get rid of the bars with missing hits and everything is cool.
i would like to see the problem straightened out though, i can see where some dropouts may not be able to be fixed with a copy/paste deal.
i do want to say how much i am enjoying this program. i am currently working on a project of christian childrens songs and jamstix has been a real life saver. i was really struggling with drums on some of the songs. my room records ok, but i was having trouble coming up with a player and trying to do it with loops was causing me to pull my hair out.
thanks again for a great software.
(sorry for the long post) |

Do you get this problem after you have dropped jamstix's midi for your song into the sequencer (and presumably then put Jamstix into drum module mode, and then rendering the audio)?
If the answer is 'yes', then play the song through completely before moving the midi to the sequencer. |

no, i have played the song all the way through any number of times fine tuning fills and tweaking grooves.
i'm not working with the midi features. once i build the song in jamstix i render it to a stereo wave file and import the file to a new track in my project (in a different software).
in the places where the hits are missing there is no obvious glitch or irregularity. the tails of the other sounds trail over nice and smooth. jamstix just didn't tell the hit to sound.
like i said, my work around has done o.k. for now, but i would like to get this straight. especially if its something peculiar to my machine.
thanks,
later... |

Please disable 'Reduction' in the groove brain for one of the parts where this happens and see if it affects the problem. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
