Hey - we didn't mean to scare you
Wait and see (or better hear) - we can do even better
It's Floyd mixed with King Crimson, old Genesis and all that stuff.
And in the end it's that typical WARAN sound
If you want to hear our early, even more Floyd-like stuff, go and download

Ha ha..... very nice, but man, this mix could really use JamStix + BFD Tama. DO IT! Make the drumz HUGE and you got a hit

I'd love to get BFD - but I can't afford it
The mix is very old - produced before I got my mixer and monitors ...
I would lay a hand on it again if I had some decent drumsampler - but I haven't _________________ Frank

OK, I tell ya da poor man's solution. Look for the free soundfont TamaRockStar.sf2 ... initial version is better IMHO... just replace da dodgey kick with a fatter one, then use a freeware SF2 player plugin with JamStix

What about the older versions of DFH? I think I could grab a used one of these at eBay at a reasonable price. Is it worth it? _________________ Frank

Hmmm.... very subjective stuff.
DFH vs BFD. I am a BFD fan for a few reasons. Da doodz @ fxpansion can code... v. important. DR-008 was one of my favs back in da day... low as hell CPU and great performance @ high polyphony. BFD is just DR-008 evolution.
DFH is good engine as well. I just don't happen to like its factory soundz, but that's me
I LOVE TAMA! So the BFD expansion Tama is all I use Having said that, lots of my tracks feature that wonderful TamaROCKStar.sf2 also
Remember, it's totally up to your own ears. LISTEN to the mp3 demos from each, tryout any software demos you can get yer handz on and then decide.
Also, note.... Brilliant sounding drum samples + brilliant plugin <> brilliant drums. Again, it's up to YOU to create that great feel. Engineers work for ages on this shit. eg. Bob Clearmountain.
ROCK ON!

Ok - understood
Grabbed the TAMA-thing from soundfonts.it website and will give it a try.
Maybe I find someone who'll let me try his BFD with my tracks ...
I'll keep you informed _________________ Frank

Be very careful about buying any software off Ebay, I recently bought a ex Demo of BFD on Ebay, and it was clearly a pirate copy when it arrived, I got on to FXpansion and they checked it out for me. I have just bought the real deal, and it is really amazing.
BTW. Ralph sorry for not posting before, I really love jamstix (and the speed with which you update and improve it), I am still trying to learn to use it and are having a lot of fun in the process..
Thank you and keep it up.

LOL..... Slayer..... Not quite.... Tho' I do love some metal.
Fav. heavy bands include Metallica, AC/DC, Tool, Ministry, Motley Crue
But biggest influence, guitar wise, is Dave Gilmour. Also love Vai, S.R.V and Rocky George? from Suicidal Tendencies.... fastest fingers ever Of course, Angus Young.... Aussie (well, Scottish really ) power.
Fav. composers include Roger Waters, Springsteen, Cohen, Dylan, Jarre.
Too bad my stuff don't sound anywhere near as good as the above, but I am one-man band with shit gear.... incl. SB Live VALUE card.... LOL
Rich (programmer in real life)
ps. If ya mean Slayer, da plugin, then yes, on the original sequenced (made on Amiga) T.H.I.C ... emulated Amp guitars on T.H.I.C (live) ... Also used Slayer on Fortunate Son (my CCR cover) |

Yea - this is what I really meant Never heard the band "Slayer" so I can't talk about that. I use Slayer VSTi to produce my demos for Dan - our real-life guitarist, so I know it's specific sound. How did you do the live-version, which sounds alot better IMHO ... _________________ Frank

Ooops - Realised that I forgot one very important device we used on JamStyx pt. 1 - WUSIKstation! One of the best ROMplers on earth
Plus William (the coder) being equally as responsive as Master Zauni ... _________________ Frank
