I have a song with a "count in" part followed by an intro part then the rest of the song. Everything was working with the custom rock style. I attempted to load the "silent" style into the count-in part so it would be silent - but instead the next part, the intro part, became silent (all notes disappeared). The count-in part and the rest of the song were unaffected. Now nothing I do will make jamstix re-do the intro part and put some notes back in there. I tried re-loading several styles into the part, tried clicking the recompose button, tried loading another style into the count-in part, nothing works. I even closed the project and loaded it again. I had saved the song from within jamstix prior to the problem happening - but when i load that song, it also has a silent intro section.

I am using the most recent update of Jamstix with Sonar 7.

Please help.

Thanks

'Intro' parts are always silent. They are supposed to be used as 'count-ins' with a silent 'body' and a final transition fill into the start of the drum part. If you need a groove in that part, please switch it to 'Normal'.

Thanks for your response, RZ, but now I am really confused! I have been working for a while now with "intro" parts that are not silent. I think the confusion may be over what an "intro" part really is. I'm also not sure what you mean by "switch it to normal." For the song in question, the only thing that makes the intro part an intro part is that I have titled the part "intro." It is using the same import-style as the rest of the parts. Is there some other setting that designates a part as "intro?" I have re-started the project from scratch, and right now the first part is called "count-in" and it is silent. The second part is called Intro and it is NOT silent. However I am worried that it will become silent again, like it did the first time I put this song together.

To summarize: I have solved/worked-around my problem by re-doing the project from scratch. But I am very confused as to why the intro section became silent like it did and why it is not silent now!

Thanks again for your help! Much appreciated Smile
Mick

Sorry for the confusion! If this happens again, please do a "Save Song" in Jamstix and send me the resulting file.
