I am trying to get snare accents to occur at specified places in a part. I have the "Overall" slider all to the right. The "Hits" slider is all to the right. The "Snare Hits" "Amount" slider is to the left. This slider is automated such that it goes completely to the right in the passage where I want snare accents. I do not get snare accents via this method. This method does seem to work with "Open Hats".

Any advice on how to automate Snare Accents is appreciated.

EDIT: Also, why isn't the "Overall" setting in the Accent tab available for automation?

Why don't you just modify the interestes bar (or the bars) directly in the bar editor?

IMHO, the best way to get specif passages is to modify either the groove or the accents in the bar editor: it's quick and effective

It is great to have direct control of the sequencer. The bar editor is a wonderful enhancement to the application.

I like to use my main sequencer to re-arrange accents, fills and drumming characteristics when I am composing. In this case, I create a midi clip that triggers the accent. I place this clip were I want the accent. I can place the accent with easy visibility to other events in the composition, since I am working in the timeline of my main sequencer. This allows me to work rapidly as an idea is unfolding.

Jamstix 2's flexibility is one of it's greatest assets. I allows for multiple working styles. I do a lot of work in the Bar editor once the final tracks begin to emerge.

If you set the 'Snare Hits' slider of the '16th Rock' all the way right, then you should get two snare hits per bar, one a 16th before the 3 beat and one a 16th before the downbeat.
