| Question for ZioKiller: What sequencer/multitracker did you use for your recording? Great recording! Thanks. |

Mark B. is also quite something on the hats and just has a very unique style, I can recognize him instantly.
Yes, Stewart Copeland, definitely, great influence to more modern drummers than many realize. Love those hats on 'Red Rain' from Peter Gabriel.
And of course Steve Gadd and Bonham and Budd Rich, if we want to go back that far....but this may derail the thread _________________ Ralph Zeuner

As a guitarist I'm not much into drummers but my faves would include Neil Peart and Mike Portnoy. _________________ darcyb62 |

I was a big fan of Stewart Copeland, Phil Collins (early Genesis/Brand X) but my favourite would have to be Bill Bruford (The Yes Album/Fragile and King Crimson).
AlanB (ageing hippy/BOF)! |

When Bruford starts his mixed time sigs and polyrhythms, I feel like the rhyhtm part of my brain is blindfolded and running into walls... _________________ Ralph Zeuner

He's sure not boring!
Can we have a Bruford button, so that when you click it, everything gets polyrhythmic and really complicated?

Just set your sequencer up to alternate time sigs (i.e 4/4 +2/4) and set Jamstix to free jam with high funkiness & complexity. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Truly awsome !!!! WoW !! I love this song. I havent even finished reading this thread and I had to respond to this song. I love it !!! How where you able to program Jamstix to do that part where all the instruments stop and start at the same time. I think its at 1:17 seconds into the song. WOW !! I wanna play like that man. I know I can do it live, but never with a synth. Oh man, this is really exciting..

Hey, Mr. JamStix feels like being Dave Weckl!
This time I used JamStix driving HALion with a drumkit made by a cool guy called "Giro", this is a lo-fi version of his upcoming drum library for HALion and other formats.
Other special guests:
- Clavinet: Ticky Clav
- Rhodes: MrRay73 + Effectizer
- Brasses: Zvon horn demo - WusikStation format
- Bass: Wizoo xxl from halion content disc #1
- String: synth1
- Guitar: me with my guitar fed into the Behringer V-Amp pro
- BuzMaxi is the master compressor
Hope you enjoy |

Ok - here comes the next entry:
http://www.waran.net/mp3/JamStyx1.mp3
No computermusic but handmade by a band:)
Equipment used:
keyboards: Korg Karma & G-Media M-Tron
guitars: Fender Strat
basses: Hoyer vintage e-bass & Ohmforce MiniMonsta
drums: guess what ... (internal soundset)
host: Cubase SX 2
note: there's a minimal timing and compression issue close to the beginning of the track; this is due to the fact that the harddisk died just when we recorded the guitars. So we had no opportunity to fix that
More to come soon ... _________________ Frank

I may get booed but as far as the 70s are concerned, I think Phil Collins is way underrated for this amazing drum work in those days.
And another underrated guy is Mike Brzecziski (I am sure I spelled it wrong) from Big Country in the 80s. |
Phil Collins / Brand X. Excellent stuff! |

Wow, that's a VERY nice track!! Really nice atmosphere, I especially love the guitar solo at the end (has a very smooth 'gilmour' sound, too) and how it flows into the quieter end section that brings out the bass and drums. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
