Hi
Whenever I enable the loop mode (Cycle button) in Cubase 4, Jamstix (2.2.1 and the earlier versions) misses the first beat when repeating.
It starts playing the first bar correct, but when the loop starts again the first hit is "muted" or skipped?
I've tried with higher ASIO buffer settings without luck, and other midi/vsti instruments does not miss the first note when repeating the loop playing along with jamstix. only jamstix does. Any solution to this? |

If you were using Jamstix in drum module mode then it would work fine just as it does with any other plugin. The problem is that in a jam mode notes come from the arranger based on song position and are not triggered via MIDI from the host as with any other plugin. What happens is that the buffer sent by the host contains the end of the loop and the beginning of the loop. Jamstix has no way of knowing that this occurs due to the limitations of the VST specification and therefore the first note of the loop start bar is skipped. We have worked around this by checking the loop flag sent by the host. This works great with SX3 but maybe Cubase 4 doesn't set this flag right. We will have to research that and get back with you... _________________ Ralph Zeuner

This appears to be a C4-specific issue (doesn't happen in SX3) and so far we have not figured it out, yet. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
