Hi there!
The whole JS2 thing seems to be quite interesting to me, as someone who programmed every single hit of the drums before (Battery).
I'd like to buy JS2 together with the Metalpak as a bundle but obviously the Metalpak can't be tried out with the demo. So here are my questions:
1) The idea of observing velocity and react to it seems quite cool - playing 95% at high gain settings I guess that makes no sense, eh?
2) Do I understand the idea of JS2 correctly when I say that you put kinda patterns together that can be altered by different "brain settings"? Addinitionally it seems to be possible to alter little things (such as a crash in a pattern) or to programm individual pattern. Right?
3) To those who already own the Metalpak - how do you use it in your music? I listened to the demotracks but I can't believe that e. g. in "Inject the poison" the bass drum wasn't programmed by hand, eh?
4) How long does the sale will continue?
I think that's it for the moment. Sorry if some questions were kind of stupid
Thank you very much!
Greetinx + best wishes from northern germany!

No there are legitime questions i think
first for the concept of JS2 ure right load pattern and js embelish or interpret it u can also use it as a simple drum module like battery.
U can also make ure pattern bar editor in quick start.
For tweaking it's very good but battery is better for this i think.
For songs i use it more for jamming....
And for the metal pack.
Yes the drum can be like the demo.
But u need to doubling the bass drum i think (it's easy in js2)
For the sounds js have the best hh that i have heard.(specially metal hi-hat)
bass drum and snare are originals they sounds different than other but it's not my taste
indeed i like the cymbal.
For to jam in metal the drummers are very cool!
personnally i suggest the metal pack for beginning (however metal or not) |

Yes, you can have JS create grooves all by itself or do them completely manual or a mix of both. Jamstix has a bar editor that is like a limb-centric step sequencer so you can fine-tune individual notes as needed.

Thanx for the input, I bought the bundle today - pretty cool jamming along with it.
Are there any good URLs to get more creative with the whole thing? I seems quite impressive to me so additional input would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe JamBassist would be a great second masterpiece alongside with Jamstix2/Metalpak... |

Thank you very much for giving me input and - especially - for making such a great plugin.
I really have to say that this is the best and most creative plugin I ever dealt with - absolutely gorgeous, I'm deeply impressed!

I did the programming on Inject the Poison. The way I've used JS1 and JS2 is to program the base drum tracks and let JS do all the accents and fills. So in JS2 I use the silent style and use a virtual drummer for all the fills and what not.
I do this mainly because I am a drummer myself so I want the main rhythms to be tight because that is how I play. Fills and accents are a pain in the buttocks to program so I let JS2 fill it in, plus it makes it sound less programmed.
Hope this helps. _________________ Straight Jacket Sunday, Multiple Personality Disorder coming soon... |
