Dang this program is giving me the willies lol...
One minute I think I have it worked out, the next it's not behaving. OK to set the scene. I have formatted my C: drive and I have a fresh install of Jamstix. I was working fine until I started to change kits again. I had jamstix playing along with a 4x4 dance track (drums done with a sample and in midi) than I was working on. I changed the style to "Country Rock" as that was the straightest beat, changed drumers a few times until I found one that worked. Then on the kit page I locked the Outputs and the Mixer before trying different kits as per Ralph's instructions (did I do this right????). I found a kit in that I liked. I had the track looped and playing while all this was going on and preview was working brilliantly for the drummer, style and kit and I was loving it
OK so I pause the track and I went into the kit window to change a few bits of kit (the boingy electronic toms where a bit much but the kick and snare was just right), so I click on the piece of kit with my mouse. The first time I click on the tom, I hear the sound, the second time I hear NO sound. In fact none of the kit is sounding with the mouse click. I press play and I have no sound from jamstix at all. After lots of fiddling around and still not able to get any sound out of Jamstix (trying Downmixing etc, rebuild multiple outs, changing kits drummers styles) nothing helped. So I close Reaper (registered version not that that should matter), open a new project, new track, add jamstix, from the Quickstart menu choose Rock and play the track, still no sound. Just by pure accident (trying everything I could think of) I armed the track and bang!!! A snare drum nearly blew my eardrums out. Jamstix was playing but only when the track was armed. This is not it's normal behaviour. I've been using Jamstix for maybe two years now?????? But over the last month or two started to realy used more than a basic drum machine. But it seems to get messed up really easily. Is it me??? If it is what am I doing wrong. Help |

This is not a Jamstix issue but a REAPER setup issue. Look at the REAPER preferences under 'Audio'->'Playback' and make sure 'Run FX When Stopped' is enabled. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
Many thanks, this fixed it right away. So hard to remember all these things. But you are on the ball and your support is second to none. Many thanks my friend. I hope I will get on top of this program after all |
