|
|
HI,
I just purchased Jamstix after viewing a demo at a friends, and I'm finding my way around just fine so far.
One thing I couldn't find mentioned on the forums is that I can't find any samples associated with some of the percussion, for instance the shaker, chimes, etc don't have any samples mapped to them.
Are these samples included in the program, or am I supposed to find my own for these instruments? I don't see any way to import my own sample, and I don't want to use a Vst sub-host just for this.
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance,

Your description sounds as if you are still running the demo sound set.
Did you uninstall the demo first?
Did you follow the full version install instructions and executed jamstix_data_setup?
Look at your jamstix folder and see if you have 'chimes' etc files listed in your 'samples' folder. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply, I should have just looked in the drop down menu where the sample mapping is, for some reason the chimes, jam block and shakers were mapped to 'no sound'.
The samples were in the drop-down so I just mapped them and saved the defalt mapping and it's working fine.
Thanks for the quick reply - fantastic software, my only wish would be more percussion options, but I'll keep an eye for version 2.
Thanks again!

Make sure you have more than just the demo mappings. Look into your 'mappings' folder and make sure there is a kit called 'Jamstix Yamaha Stage Custom'. If you load this mapping, you should see properly mapped percussion sounds. You can make it your default by saving it as 'default.rdm'

We are actually planning a separate plugin (working title "Jamcussion"), which will be released after JamBace. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
