These are some frequently asked support questions and their answers:
I HAVE INSTALLED JAMSTIX AND THERE IS NO SOUND
Make sure you have downloaded the stock kit (and any other Paks you purchased), unzipped them and installed them via 'Install Pak' in the 'Kit' window.
I HAVE JUST UPDATED JAMSTIX AND NOW IT SAYS "You need to run the latest Jamstix updater. If you have manually moved the data folder and/or DLLs before, you will need to manually move the updated files." BUT I NEVER MOVED THE DATA FOLDER.
If you are running Vista, please right-click on the Jamstix updater in the Windows explorer and choose 'Run As Administrator'. The message can also occur after installing older versions of the stock kit. Re-running the updater will fix it.
If this doesn't help, download this file and save it to the '\data\sounds\' folder in your Jamstix 2 folder, overwriting your existing file.
WHEN I USE A DRUMMER OTHER THAN 'CHARLIE', I GET NO SNARE OR KICKS
Turn up the song power knob above the song sheet.
WHEN I CLICK ON THE TIMELINE OR SONG SHEET, MY HOST FREEZES
Add this line to the [General] section of your jamstix2.ini file:
AllowDragDrop=0
This will disable MIDI drag-&-drop but you can still use the 'Export MIDI File' option in the song menu.
SOME DROP-DOWN LISTS SHOW UP BEHIND THE MAIN JAMSTIX INTERFACE
Add this line to the [General] section of your jamstix2.ini file:
BlockMouseMove=1
I USE VISTA WITH UAC ENABLED. JAMSTIX CRASHES IN SOME HOSTS.
Uninstall Jamstix and reinstall it to a folder outside of 'Program Files' (i.e. c:\jamstix2)
DELETING NOTES IN THE BAR EDITOR
The fastest way to delete a note in the bar editor is to drag-&-drop an empty cell onto it.
I AM USING A MULTI OUTPUT KIT BUT ALL THE SOUND IS ROUTED TO OUTPUT #1
Uncheck 'Downmix' in the Jamstix mixer.
CAN I STORE THE JAMSTIX SOUND DATA ON A SEPARATE DRIVE?
Yes, install it normally to your desired plugin folder, install your Paks, activate and make sure Jamstix runs fine. After that, you can move the 'data' folder in your Jamstix 2 folder to the separate drive. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
