Is there an easy way to erase lots of notes? for example I let JS2 compose the parts....then there might be a part in the song or more commonly at the end where I need to have silence from the drummer....until he plays again... So I want to erase notes in a couple of measures. Highlighting and deleting one note at a time is slow & noisy....as I move the curser to delete...it sound every drum/cymbal it crosses.

Use 'Clear' in the bar menu of the bar editor. Don't forget to lock the bar to keep it from being recomposed accidentally in the future.

that worked...it cleared the whole measure.....but...is there a way to clear a note just by clicking on it while holding down a certain key? At times...I don't want to clear the entire measure...but I might want to clear specific notes in several measures....it would be easy if that is possible.

In MC4 (cakewalk) I can go into staff mode and select the erase tool....then whatever note I click on is zapped. It would be nice to see something like this in JS2

Simply drag an empty cell onto the note you want to delete.
