|
|
I switched to Mac a while ago so I never really got to use Jamstix much. However listening to some old tracks i made with it reminded how impressive it is.
I am thinking of running Windows under Mac OSX to use Jamstix and various other tools I might need.
Is there a simple host which is very light on resources which I can use for Jamstix? |

i suggest the version 1
but u can use both
versioN 2 have rex support and it's a little more intuitive but the 1 is more advanced for working with midi.
so u can try the both anyway.
this daw is awesome:
modualr view
browser
totally skinned (and very esay to make yours but there's thousand on the site.
very light
the soft open directly with no delay
don't need to refresh ure vsti folder ^^
and many.... |

+1 to EnergyXT.
I can also reccomend hightly Cantabile, of which there is a free version available. EnergyXT, however, does provide a sequencer of its own and I guess you should be able to drag and drop midi patterns into it.
Also check out using Wine on OSX (Darwine or CrossoverMac) and you can literally use Jamstix together with logic that way. |

Just beware only the last version of energy xt (v1.41) can import/export midifiles.
(ext2 can do the job in all versions) |

Yea that's good to know. I had some wierd problems with 1.41 anyway and the QWERTY keyboard. XT2 worked a little better. The nice thing about 1.41 is that there are a bunch of weird little midi plugins that can be used on it for filtering the data, but they don't work on XT2 or anywhere else. Anyway, Cantabile also works pretty spectacularly. I also tried Reaper last night...worked like a charm but used a lot more CPU for some reason.
Some day I'd like to try out Plogue. |

Yep the midi channelizer and patcher in ext are awesomes.
i was try cantabile it's not so bad.
for reaper i was try also he has good unik features but for
midi ===>ext
and audio =====>tracktion
and for both===> ext plug in tracktion ^^
Ableton live is good also but i use the version 2 with just audio.
ext2 have a new release this week with good new features. |
