4/2/08 I bought Jamstix 2 XL with the Bonzo Pack.
Today XL + Bonzo + Metal is priced what I paid for just the XL.
I would like to request a free or greatly reduced price for the Metal pack.

I realize that was the six weeks ago price, but how about somthing in the way of discount so that my total cost would not be simply $10 less than full price for the Studio version?

Yeah I'm a new user too and seeing a price drop just after you purchase is always a bummer. On the other hand, have you never bought a computer, only to find one twice as powerful for the same price a few weeks later?

The way I look at it, I waited quite a while and when I did purchase, I was already getting a good deal what with the dollar rate and so on; sure, I'm now kicking myself I didn't wait a little longer, but I certainly got value for money and I got to use the product earlier than if I had waited.

It's always going to be this way with price cuts ... personally, I'm not complaining, because a price cut I have the bad luck to miss out on is still better than no price cut at all!

Oh ... ask Cubase users about crazy pricing policies, and you'll realise Jamstix users are very lucky!

I can't speak for what Ralph will say, but I can say that in this case, there really shouldn't be anything he HAS to do. Sales happen all the time, it's just a risk you take when buying something that you're getting the best deal you can. If you miss the sale, it's not unfair, it's just bad timing.

I bought East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Silver a little over three years ago. Literally two weeks later, they had a sale and I could have gotten it for much cheaper OR gotten the much better Gold Edition for the same price I paid. And at the time, it was a $400 product. It sucked.

But that's just the way it goes. I also personally feel that feeling in any way like you didn't get great value even at normal price on JS is unfair to Rayzoon. Just my opinion though.

I don't mean to be rude, and I hope it doesn't come across that way. But that's just how it goes sometimes. Can you imagine if all stores allowed customers to return all the items they bought because it goes on sale six weeks later? Computers? Cars? It would be a mess.

I would just be happy and use JS knowing you got a steal of a price already for software that does things that no other software in existence does. Good luck.

Brent

I bought the Jamstix program nearly 3 years ago, and have added all of the packs as they became available. As a result I have paid a lot more for the whole bundle than it would have cost me if I had waited until now. But then I have been using Jamstix all those past months.

Ralph has been very fair about his pricing, and I don't in any way feel ripped off because the price falls during a sale. If a buyer comes along at just the right time, then that is good luck for them, but we shouldn't determine what we do just by sitting around waiting for bargains - that is a very negative lifestyle choice to my mind. No, Jamstix prices have always been reasonable, and Ralph deserves all the praise he gets in these forums.

I have missed sales because it was not the time to buy, that was my choice, I have bought before and after sales again my choice. Companies put sales on all the time i choose to buy or not. There will be another sale in a few weeks or months, should he have to gove back to everyone who bought before the sale.

Sales are to encourage new customers, a thing that every company needs these days, not to degrade already earned income.

You got a great product at a more than fair price suck it up and make some music. Be happy a great company like rayzoon can offer sales, make money, and built a better client bass, where new product and upgraded product happens, not where abandoned software happens.

I once bought an Ableton Live upgrade at what I thought was a good deal, only to have them offer that price again with a free upgrade to the next version about a month later. I was a bit miffed, because I'd bought the upgrade due to an email they'd sent me - so I felt a somewhat enticed into a deal that was going to improve shortly thereafter.

Once I got over being mad, though, I realized that I'd made my own choice & should live with it & be happy. Maybe I could have done more research in their forums, & seen that the newer release was imminent...but at any rate, I got the software at a much better price than if I'd have bought it the week before, so it works both ways.

Later on, I had another upgrade to deal with - I read more about it & evaluated my deal with a better informed eye, and in the end I decided that it simply wasn't the best deal I could get & I passed on it. (Some people in a particular forum thought I was being unreasonable in my expectations, but I don't - I felt my reasons were quite solid as regarded my expectations, and simply wasn't impressed with my option vs. what was being offered to new buyers. But I'm going off topic here...)

The upshot is that, in this case, I saved myself almost $100. That almost negated what I'd lost by not getting the free Ableton upgrade - so in a way, I almost broke even in the end. Smile

Jamstix is a great deal at the regular price, but I definitely understand how you feel mate. Not a 'I got ripped!' feeling, but an 'aw dang, I almost got it for $x less' feeling. Of course I got JS2 during the holiday special, which meant I got it plus XL and metalpaks for $129, and I got the Truepianos crossgrade coupon and THEIR holiday sale, meaning I got another plugin I'd been ogling for a ridiculous price. And I'd just gotten Tsaiko on sale a few weeks before that...

But of course that sort of thing has happened to me, so I know where you're coming from.
