Hi!

Since the highend or even not so highend (e.g. AD) come with many articulations like Hihat Tip/Shank etc. it would be nice if Jamstix could support some of them in the future!

The Jamstix 2 stock kit hihat has a shank sound set available ("Hihat Closed Shank - JS2 14" Paragon").

Ok, but I meant support in the brain for some of the many articulations/variations for Hihat, Snare etc. that are present in highend drum programs like BFD2 and Jamstix doesn't know about. It would be cool if Jamstix could play with them!

Please elaborate a bit on that. Why wouldn't you just assign the keys for those articulations to Jamstix sound slots as needed? Or do you mean you want to be able to switch between articulation during a single song, such as playing tip hats and then shank hats?

I was actually thinking about this too-- Many BFD grooves have the hihat alternating between tip and shank, sort of randomly. Is this accurate, or do drummers stick to one or the other for the length of a song?

Most drummers stick to one technique for a given song. The exceptions are:

- a few drummers use a hand motion where loud hihat events are shanked and light ones are tipped, using a fast up/down + whipping motion of arm and wrist.

- in some songs, a drummer may shank opened hats but stay tipped on closed. You can do that in JS2 by selecting shanked sounds for the open hihat sound slot(s).
