Wow...Ralph...I thought Jamstix2 and the XL pak was the ultimate all-in-one VST drum solution. With so many styles, drummer-simulations and all those kits, the parts of which you can mix and match to taste, it's the most versatile drum app I've seen in all my researching.
But just when I thought it couldn't get any better...after ignoring it for the longest time, I checked out the MetalPak addon and ordered it. After playing around with it I am amazed that I only paid 39 bucks for it. So impressed was I, that I decided to complete the Jamstix2 library (to date) by ordering the BonzoPak, and again, 39 bucks?! What an incredible pallette of drum sounds, and what an infinite variety of intelligent virtual session drumming at my disposal!!!
The drums samplesets, alone, are worth what you're charging for JS2 and all the paks, and yet the real value (or magic if you will), lies in the incredibly realistic midi drummer simulation, which to me, makes standard midi loop players and even the biggest midi-loop libraries seem unbearably limited by comparisson.
Congrats on a brilliant drum system. Not only is the design incredible, but the marketing aspect, that is, the release of painlessly low-cost add-ons in downloadable format makes following the evolution of JS2 an adventure.
Now surely, it can't possibly get any better than this... |

I was just thinking, where did you find them for $39? Then I looked at the home page and saw that they are on sale. WooHoo!!!
I guess that was just enough reason to get off the fence, so I got them both, too.
Thanks Geezer. You cost me $78 |

Yeah, but what a great way to blow 78 bucks eh? All those kits...all those individual drums to add to the collection. All those new drummers and styles! I was just playing with it; I loaded up a Bonzo kit (I love those drums), created a quick groove with kick and snare, let the brain do the rest, and then cycled through all the new drummers/styles and marvelled at the way my own little part morphed into new original parts, subtly or wildly. Touch a slider here and there and it morphs even further, but always convincingly. Another thing I love about these Styles and Drummers is that if I create my own base grooves with just the kick/snare and let JS2's drummers complete and morph the groove as they see fit, I know there's pretty much zero chance that anyone else will ever have exactly the same drum part in their song, which I'm sure must happen now and then with midi loop collections and midi loop players.
I look forward to seeing what else Ralph comes up with. I've got the whole Jamstix2 library so far, and so far every purchase has turned out to be an incredible bargain. I don't know what the heck Jamstix3 could have going on that it will make it a great improvement, but judging from all of Rayzoon's past performance, it's pretty much guaranteed to be both an amazing concept and an amazing bargain.
Not that I'm in any kind of hurry for a new version....I haven't even mastered the fancier ways of using this version yet, so by all means, keep those Jamstix2 paks coming!
Installing these paks has, in one particular sense, made me pity real drummers, not because I think they can be replaced -they most certainly cannot be replaced (you need a real drummer onstage of course), but because the average real drummer has what...one, maybe two drum kits? Between my JS2 library and others that I own, I've got a gymnasium-full of virtual drumkits. That's one good argument for using virtual drums in the studio. Having a virtual bus-load of competent and unique session drummers to play 'em doesn't hurt either. |

I don't know how someone could go wrong getting JS. Now that I've finally dug in and started to learn it and use it, it's become one of the best investments I've made in studioware.
Anway, off to load 'em up. |

I truly love this program too, and it has been such a blessing to my music ministry as I have a more easy time making the drum track, which was my biggest headache, Oh, may God continue to bless Ralph and all his staff at Rayzoon, they are so humble and such a blessing.
Sincerely,
