|
|
I've been running Jamstix 2 under Vista x64 for some time.
I purchased the Bonzopak add-on and ran the 2.2.1 update, after which I received the following error on startup:
"You need to run the latest Jamstix updater. If you have manually moved the data folder and/or DLLs before, you will need to manually move the updated files. If none of this helps and the message persists, please contact Rayzoon Support for help."
Using the 2.2.2 beta 1 driver doesn't fix the problem, but reinstalling the 2.2.0 update does.
Also, the Bonzopak seems a bit underweight. Download totals about 200MB, advertised as 900MB. Are they just highly compressed?

This is a new check in 2.2.1 (which is why 2.2.0 doesn't show it) that uses support files in the 'data' directory to see whether all files have been updated properly. Most likely cause, as pointed out in the error message, is that you manually moved the data folder or DLL. Please update to 2.2.1 and note that path that it is updating. Send me that path and the rzdlog.txt file from the Jamstix 2 folder and I'll help you get it sorted.

All Jamstix 2 expansion files (RXP2) use a special lossless compression that accounts for the difference between download file size and installed file size. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I haven't moved either the data folder or the dll. I performed a clean install to try to resolve the problem, but 2.2.1 still reported the error.
When I get home from after work I'll provide the details you requested.
Thanks. |

Hi, I get the same message.
Though I did previously move the data folder to my audio disk and renamed it jamstix2data and linked it successfully to the plugin.
There is a (?new?) data folder in my vstplugins/jamstix2 folder, that has a load of files, some with today's date, some older, some not in the other folder. The other folder has many older files, some from expansion packs.
To "manually move the updated files" - what should I do? |

Move the contents of the vstplugins/jamstix2/data folder to your jamstix2data folder, overwriting existing files. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph, Sorted.
I was not confident about the behaviour of subfolders when pasting.
I really should have known better. |

Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugIns\jamstix2
There is no rzdlog.txt in that path following installation of 2.2.1, nor is there any such file in any subfolder of c:\Program Files (x86).
The update has run, because I do get the error, and it shows 2.2.1 in the corner of the VST. |

| After Jamstix has run at least once, there must be a rzdlog.txt on your system somewhere. Please do a search for it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Interesting. I've searched my entire c: drive and no such file is to be found.
However, after checking the size of my data folder, I find it's only 50MB, and yet the samples all play.
I think it's somehow pointing to the drive that boots XP.
Can you point me to the registry key or ini file that states where the data folder is located? |

Please look for a file called js2.ini in your windows directory. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I found a rzdlog.txt with the right date in: d:\Program Files\VST\jamstix2
It seems like it is using the data folder from my clean XP install.
How can I prevent it from doing this? |

And the updater was definitely pointed at C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugIns\jamstix2 ? If not, you can run it again to make double sure.
Also, please send me the file js2.ini from
C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugIns\jamstix2\data\sounds _________________ Ralph Zeuner
