output assignment not working in 2.1?

i noticed when i select output assignment - it no longer functions - i have tried with different kits -
also when dragging song to midi part i am getting a cowbell where open hihat accent should be -
is there somewhere in cubase that could cause this switch? Im just doing what i usually do -
help...

Please uncheck 'Downmix' in the mixer.

Make sure 'Map GM' is unchecked when using drum module mode.
