Couldn't duplicate this in FL but I could in SAVIHost. Fix is coming. |

Ralph et al,
Been out of the loop a couple of days (weekend duties call!...)
For me 1610 was the same as x3-7.
ie, in FL studio, when starting and stopping a project with JS in manual jam, bar 1 would often repeat beat 1 for part or all of the bar.
If after stopping the song in FL, the JS rewind button is also pushed, then the rhythm will play fine next time.
Anyway, if you guys can't reproduce this, then I'm sure you're tearing your hair out. Feel free to give the issue a rest. I'm basically a happy camper so long as things stay how they are in x3-7 or 1610. The issue isn't going to get in the way of any song production, and that's the main thing.
Cheers,
Johnny |

We'll have the barstartpos/time sig change fix for FL Studio in a few days, which may also help this issue. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Johnny L, could you test-drive the new X3-10 beta in your FL?
Also, since I'm not a FL user, is it possible to setup time signature changes within a song in FL? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph,
I'll have a look at x3-10 for you tonight.
I'm not really too clued up on time sig changes in FL.
I tend to just set up either a 4/4 pattern or a 12/8 style pattern, and that's
it for the whole song.
I think you can easily enough insert say a 2 beat pattern into a song,
but I'm not sure if you can change from say 4/4 to 6/8 - I think this requires the setting of a global variable that would affect all
patterns. In any case, I guess this is not the issue - JS
can't change in and out of shuffle (can it?).
I'll look into it though, and report back.

Ralph,
X3-10 seems to play the first bar correctly, and repeatably now.
There is a small issue with the timing though - I think there's a bit of an offset now between bar 1 and 2.
With my test project, bar one is an intro, so there is a crash on beat 1 of bar 2. There is also a closed hat on beat 1 of bar two, but you can hear a mis-timing between them (in earlier versions, eg 1610, when it played properly, you couldn't hear the closed hat because the crash was right on top of it).
Also, during bar one, in the arranger view, as the beat advances, the bar numbers flashes briefly up to the highest bar number you've played to so far, and then back to one. The green position indicator does the same thing. It stops this once you reach bar two. Doesn't actually seem to affect anything though.
Concerning time sig changes in FL, I could be wrong, but I don't think it formally supports them as such.
In FL you have a playlist which is the equivalent of the JS arranger, and a song is constructed from various "patterns" which you can paste at any point into a song (like the rhythms in JS). Patterns can be any length that you like, and can be pasted at any position.
JS exists as a channel in FL that any pattern can send midi data to, but there is no notion of patterns actually belong to JS. So in this regard, you can construct a song with 2 beat measures at various points, but I can't see how JS would actually know this....
I could be missing something - perhaps others can help.
I hope this helps you a bit.
Cheers,
Johnny. |

Thanks, Johnny. We are aware of the "jumping" during bar one and will try to fix that but it appeared to play fine for us as well.
We'll also look into the timing issue _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph,
Build 1616/x3-12 (I see they are actually the same build), seems to work properly.
Midi-out only works. Bar 1 to bar 2 timing is tight. Bar indicator doesn't jump, and.... it didn't hiccup once when playing bar 1!!!.
Cool.
Well done guys. Thanks for your efforts.
Rayzoon support is absolutely second to none.
