I confirm that "turn groove into a style" is now working correctly
Thank you! |

Hi
The "turn groove into a style" behaviour appears to be different to 2.2 but I'm still not sure whether it is working fully or not.
If I add a groove importer to a given style, load a midi clip into it and then select "turn groove into style", all that happens is that in the groove panel "midi clip" switches to "JS2 Groove" and my original midi clip is replaced with "Bar Groove" a single bar version of my original midi file. This doesn't really achieve anything and I am not offered any means of creating or saving a "style" as I understand it.
What exactly is supposed to happen? Am I missing something?
Thanks

"turn groove into a style" is useful when you build your own groove from scratch and, as far as I know, this function takes only one bar into account. Once you had to save your bar, select the "import" style and load the JS2 groove you had just saved: "turn groove into a style" allows you to skip this tedius procedure and start jamming with your own groove very quickly. BTW, it would be nice if JS2 would ask how many bars it should use for the new "style"
The procedure you describe should not involve the use of "turn groove..." at all. I'd suggest to save a part or a song instead. |

El Taube is correct. 'Turn Groove Into Style' is a fast way to turn whatever is in the bar editor (groove aspect) into a style. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I see. But I find your terminology rather confusing.
When you refer to a style, you do not actually mean something you can select under the "style" menu and chose from a drop down list of "styles"?
I understand the shortcut but isn't this really just a temporary groove rather than a style that I can permanently name and save?
Sorry if I am getting this wrong. |

You are correct in that it does not create a style file but the what it does is taking the notes of the bar editor and turning them into instructions for the style model of the A.I. engine. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just released Beta 6, which has important fixes for multi-core users. All feedback is very much appreciated. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

As you suggest it, i put the beta 6 (multi core) in the directory. After launching cubase and JS2, I hear a very short unlike peak at the end of the snare sound. to be honest, I return on the beta 4 to be sure not hearing ghost noise (i could be tired...), and the n the sound was clear again.
In the same time, i notice some problems with the mixer. In fact, when you try to split all the drum on more than 2 channels, you find the cymbals, ride, percus and ambiance right, but the toms, snare and kick are on the first stereo channel. I'm do not have a systematic use of this function, but it could be better to mix the sound separately as purpose in the kit's menu.
I appreciate all the time you bring to give us the finest product, and honestly, having so many possibility to compose any musical stuff is unexpected for me. I hope my modest remarks help you resolve this little problems i noticed at this time. |

I have found the same thing with, seemingly, snare sounds. A little click that appears to be in time with the beat. This is beta 6.
Tried a different soundcard to see if that was the problem - the little peak or click still appeared. I can understand the previous poster thinking it was his imagination at first - I had to don the headphones to make sure I was hearing it. |

The first i hear that, i was thinking "man, you are getting totally crazy..)"...
But in fact, the little click appears really with beta 6. |

Just posted Beta 7 which fixes the 'crackling' sounds observed by some of you with Beta 6. Let me know if you can confirm the fix. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Tried beta 7 with 3 quickload songs and changed kit with one of these songs as well. No 'crackling' with beta 7 on my machine with these tests. Very happy now. |

Just make a test with beta 7. No more apparent problems with sound picking on snare.
But the test with mix didn't get so pretty result. It's seem to block the kick, snare and toms on the first channel. But i'm sure you will take a look on it
So i return soon on it !! bye |
