Yes, it is FL Studio standalone.
I've also tried it sub-hosted in n-track. Same issue.
I haven't actually tried JS direct in n-track. I'll do this tonight to see what it does.

Yes, it definitely is the x3-5 dll. From memory, there's the number 1606 below the yellow Z on the top right of the JS window.
Would there be merit in a clean install to clear any legacy settings from earlier versions?

I'm using Sampletank 2 LE (loaded with a product called Studio Drums Capsule from a crowd called Sonic Reality), though this is not subhosted in JS. I've got Sampletank hosted in FL Studio, and I'm using the midi-out of JS into Sampletank. I'm also using the internal percussion sounds of JS, since my Studio Drums pack for ST doesn't have any percussion.

I've routed the outputs of Sampletank and JS to different FX channels in FL Studio.

Thanks for your help Ralph.
Would be nice if we had a virtual version of you that could have a peek over my shoulder at home to see what's going on!!

Cheers,
Johnny

That's the right version. Clean install won't make a difference, don't bother.

Does this problem also occur when you're just running Jamstix by itself without SampleTank etc.?

Ralph,

The problem exists even with the simplest configuartion of just JS in FLS, playing one of the internal kits.

I'll try x3-7 tonight when I'm home, and report back.

I don't know if it's significant, but did you note the bit where I said that the symptom has changed slightly with the ASIO drivers - the bar marker doesn't seem to repeat on 1 - it now moves to 2, but bar 2 is a bit garbled (usually sounds like it's repeating 1 beat four times).

Just another thought/question: as far as I know, the JS ini file is whatever it was when I first bought and installed JS version 1. Is there any possibility that some parameters might not be set right with all the updates?

Did notice it but it hasn't helped me, yet Smile

I can't see any way that it would mess things up.

Maybe X3-7 helps. It's hard to test for me since I can reproduce your problem only with high latencies (100ms+) but X3-7 does fix that for me.

Ralph, you guys are getting there!!

OK - with x3-7, what happens is JS will generally not advance properly through bar 1 - it will stay on bar 1 - beat 1 until bar 2 is reached. From then on it seems to be fine (this is definitely an improvement over x3-5) - I'm happy to leave just the first bar empty while it syncs up.

If you start and stop songs with the FL transport controls, it seems to exhibit this behaviour 50 - 80 % of the time.

HOWEVER:
If, after you've stopped the song with the FL transport controls, you then push the Jamstix rewind transport button, the arrangement will play flawlessly everytime (for as long as I've tested anyway).

In x3-5 it didn't matter whether you used the rewind button, or not, the sync problem was usually there.

Thanks for your efforts so far.

Cheers,
Johnny

This is just wild and totally unreproducable here but we'll keep cracking at it...

Johnny and weaverid, please skip the X3-8 and use this Build here to see if it fixes your issue:

Thanks!

I don´t complain, mind you! Smile

But I find it a bit hard to keep up with all the updates. X3-1 to X3-8
I understand, but what is 1610 about?
New scheme of naming the .dll´s ???
Please clarify just for understanding purposes.
Jamstix is simply evolving so fast!!

All Builds have running numbers internally and there can be multiple Builds for the same release. The 1610 is an internal beta, so it's not even an X beta-release. I just put it out for those users to test a specific fix.

Ralph
I just tried it. The intro now works properly - which is good. Previously, the introducing measure would repeat itself.

On the other issue though - I don't see any improvement. Jamstix doesn't detect any change in measure length at the host. In other words I don't see any synching. Specifically I inserted a 1 beat measure at measure 3 in Sonar. Everything else is a 4 beat measure. Well - Jamstix thinks measure 3 is a 4 beat measure (it isn't).

I noticed another oddity concerning the "clearall" arrangement function. I don't know if this is new or not - but it didn't seem to work. I had my arrangement initially set up from another session. When I couldn't get the synching feature to work - I thought maybe I should try a new arrangement from scratch. So I clicked on "clearall". I received the usual caution window asking if I was sure ... but the arrangement remained. The intro and fill indications remained - and playback still had the intro and fills. What should really happen when clearing an arrangement? Shouldn't it start from scratch?

Plus I now notice the arrangement window operation has some new features ... like if I insert a fill - but I don't actually select any style (I just close the intro/ending/fill window. The arrangement window doesn't get updated graphically. The arrangement window is white where the intro/ending/fill window was. This is minor of course.

Do I get a Jamstix promotional bic pen?

Thanks

Just checked it out and sure enough, FL Studio does not send the barStartPos info in the VST data transfer, which Jamstix uses for time sig change calculations. We'll be working on a work-around but this is a FL bug/omission.

The arrangement should fully clear for all unlocked bars. Check if you had some locks on (white frames around bar icons) and if it still doesn't work, please send me the FL project for testing here.

Couldn't duplicate this in FL but I could in SAVIHost. Fix is coming.
