After reinstalling my whole Computer (Win XP SP2, all hotfixes&updates), I also reinstalled Jamstix 2.2 and REAPER 2.14159. Every time I chose one of the Song Templates from the Quickstart Menu I get a beep and the Error Message "No Disk - Exception Processing Message c0000013" pops up. Jamstix starts playing nontheless. The message also appears every time that the song part changes. It does not appear when I choose a Jam session.

Thanks for your help.

Did you run the full Jamstix 2 installer first before running the 2.2.0 updater?

I did run the jamstix installer first, then I ran the updater. Then I opened my VST Host (REAPER) for the first time and installed the drum kits (stock, xl and metal pack).

I have now uninstalled everything, reinstalled jamstix2_setup.exe (which installs version 2.1.4), then I ran my host and installed the drum kits (stock, xl and metal pack). Everything worked well. Then I ran the 2.2.0 updater, and - sure enough - the error message is back.

I sent you the rzdlog.txt to support@rayzoon.com.

And, by the way: I am really impressed with jamstix. I have recently finished my first track with jamstix, and it sounds great.

The error message has been associated with Quicktime, iTunes, Norton Anti-Virus and other software. Not sure which one applies to you. You can google the error for more info. Here is one example with suggested solutions:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the link. I had googled before and tried a number of different things, but nothing helped. I have tried some more now, but still no remedy.

The funny thing is, that it only happens with Jamstix (no other application does this) and only when using the new (2.2.0) Song-Templates. Every time I open one, the message pops up. It also appears while playing, when the part changes and when I change the style or drummer of the part manually.

However, after changing the style of a part manually (even if I choose the same style that was there before), the message doesn't occur for that part any more. So, that's a workaround for me. I will just have to reselect the style for each part manually.

But it is still strange. To me (not being a computer person) it seems to be a jamstix-related problem. Maybe my description will help you to nail down the problem. In the meantime I can live with the workaround.

And: Your support is ultra-fast. Thank you very much.

We'll definitely look into this next week and see what we can see.

I think this is a specific condition on your machine that can get triggered by any piece of software under the right conditions. That's why you see so many different software titles causing this error when you google it. Hopefully we can find a blind-fix that removes whatever it is that makes JS2 trigger it but it would be a better solution to find the true underlying cause on your machine. We'll see what we can find out.

Ralph,

Not much info to go on yet, but I am also having the same problem. No disc and exception error messages when loading the quickstart songs. Accessing styles from the brain get around a couple crashes but performance is fragile. Also verified that the problem is with 2.2.0. Ver 2.1.4 does not crash.

Thanks for looking at this.

Regards,
John K

I have just sent you a test DLL with a blind fix. Let me know if it helps.

Ralph,

Problem persists still with the new dll. I send the log file to support on the way out the door to work.

Wanted also to thank you for the quick response and a big thumbs up for the Bonzo pak. Feels like the spirit of John pervading the ethers. A real must get for anyone, and should add that the installed pak sounds even better than the demos.

Best regards,
John K

Can you guys answer the following questions to help me research this?

a) Do you have Norton Anti-Virus installed?
b) Do you have a HP computer?
c) Do you have a C drive on your machine?
d) Do you have an external card reader plugged in via USB?

Thanks!

I have this problem too, but only in Chainer. Everytime I load a song from the quickstart menu I get the same error. This doesn't happen in Cubase.

a) I don't have Norton installed, b) this is a Gateway computer, c) I have a C: drive on my machine (where windows is installed) and d) I don't have an external card reader plugged in via USB but an internal one.

After the error, Jamstix keeps playing in Chainer.

This is not a big problem for me because I don't use chainer that much, just wanted to make a test and see if the error appeared.

Willy.

Can you tell me a specific quickstart song that does this?

I will tell you the ones that are not affected: Afro-Cuban, Blues Shuffle, Drum & Bass and Funk. All the others bring the error.

I can't reproduce those errors in Cubase.

Willy.

Willy, please try opening the Afro-Cuban QS song and then save it via the song menu onto itself. Now close Jamstix, reopen it and see if loading Afro-Cuban now still produces the error.

Can't do it in Chainer because a message appears saying that I have to stop the host or unlock from it before saving. I stopped audio from chainer, but I can't save the song.

Another way to do it?

Willy.
