I'm having trouble integrating the free rgc:audio sfz. I can load the external vsti okay and load the sf2 file into the sfz player and select a drum kit program into the program box. The following problem happens - when I hit and release a note on my keyboard, I get a drum sound 2 times (depressing a note AND when releasing the same note.)

If I try to re-select the internal sounds everything seems okay (I successfully revert back to the internal kit). When I try to reselect the rgc:audio sfz ... it comes up ... but "blank" inside the box. I can't go any further to experiment.

If I simply load the rgc:audio sfz as a simple free-standing vsti in Sonar ... it works fine. I can play the drum sounds at the keyboard with no problem.

Assuming I get this straightened out - I am sure there will be a mapping problem. Do I then play with the MAP box? I thought my drum kit was GM.

I don't know if this matters, but I created the sf2 file from vsampler. I thought I was getting just a drumkit sound when I exported to sf2. Anyway, I was surprised I could export in this fashion. I am amazed at the quality of the sound.

By the way - jamstix continues to amaze.

Thanks

IW

Sorry about all these details - but I tried simply letting jamstix do its thing with the new sf2 ... and it sounds kinda okay - I don't hear double hits (unless jamstix puts out very short midi notes).

Anyway - I could hear the new kit - but I noticed that it would take a lot of fine tuning to work properly with jamstix.

thanks

Sorry for the late reply, I simply missed this post.

Yes, if you are on internal sound and you switch to sfz, Jamstix is in GM mode and it should map fine. However, you may have to adjust velocity maps if some things sound too loud or too quiet.

We are looking into the double-hit thing you reported. Stay tuned.
