|
|
Hi
My problem seems to be similar to Mike's except I'm using HS6 as the DAW.
I've downloaded the demo and put the JSdemo.dll into the Cakewalk shared VST folder. When I open a new project and go INSERT>SOFTSYNTHS>VST's there's no sign of JS in the list of plug ins. Neither does it show up anywhere in 'plug in manager'.
What am I doing wrong?
JS looks such a good product but as you say always advisable to try the demo first.
Thanks in advance, zoot |

It's just a Sonar scanning issue. Try this: move the jamstix DLL back where it was, in the jamstix2demo folder, and then add then path to that folder to the search paths of the Sonar plugin manager and rescan. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph, what a rapid response!
Did that and I now see jsdemo in the plugin manager VST menu. But when, in a new project, I go iNSERT>SOFTSYNTH>VST it's not in the list of vst plugins.
Any more suggestions? Zoot |

Make sure it is not disabled in the Sonar plugin manager. Look at everything in there. Something in the plugin manager must be keeping Sonar from using it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks again Ralph
I've looked in plug in manager and can't see anything amiss, tho' not sure what I'm looking for but jSDemo is not disabled.
Could it be a registry issue? I'm having problems running EZ Drummer and someone on the Cakewalk forum has suggested I nee a registry fix. I'm a Vista user.

There is a way to clear out plugin manager settings via the registry. Maybe that is what the user is refering to. I'd ask Cakewalk tech support for guidance on that. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph
Made some progress; found a FAQ in Cakewalk support about non appearance of plugins. Went thro' the process and now have JSDEmo coming up in my list of plugins.
Insert JS2Demo into a new project. As recommended went straight to 'quickstart' and loaded an AABA groove, fine everything there in the JS Window. Pressed play on the project and, nothing. Transport bar stuck on 00:00. what next?
By the way this thread doesn't seem to be appearing in your 'Sonar' forum
Thanks again, Zoot |
