1. After spend considerable time trying to get a song to work (using Jamstix 2 brain to creat the drum entire continuous drum part following a Sonar project), I was unable to get the measures to play properly after a single bar of 2/4. (The measures would track along fine until the 2/4 measure. Instead of playing beats 1 & 2 of that bar, then starting on beat one of the next 4/4 bar, it would continue with phantom beat 3 & 4 of the 2/4 bar.) Naturally, this would throw everything off for the rest of the song. After doing some more research, it appears that I must set up my parts by meter. ie, 60 bars of 4/4, 1 bar of 2/4, 20 bars of 4/4, etc. Is this the correct proceedure to get everything timed and played correctly for a multi-meter song? (I hoped I managed to explain this clearly enough.)
2. If I need to re-compose one measure to get a more desired pattern, do I just select the bar and click the compose button? Will Jammstix recompose tha measure when play starts again? (I'm working with the learning curve coming from Jammer Pro, where one composes a single measure drum pattern by selecting the measure and the pressing the Alt-7 keys. It will then only compose/play the selected measure as often as necessary to achieve the desired drum pattern.)
Thanks for taking the patience to read through this rambling (I'm certain the answer will be considerably shorter than the question),

First of all, go to "Options" and tick "Allow time sig changes". Then you have to keep in mind that each part allows just one time sig. You have to create a new part (part lenght: 1; part repetitions: 1 time signature 2/4) to do what you want.

Select the desired bar and then take a look at the bar editor: have you noticed the two curved arrows up on the left? Click there and that bar will play over and over: if you click "comp", JS2 will recompose the groove/accent/fill according to which one of these aspects of the bar is currently active. |
