Hi guys.

Has anyone out there tried using jamstix with pro tools?

I appreciate jamstix is in a vst format, and pro tools uses rtas for plug-ins. However i have used FXpansion VST to RTAS adapter to make jamstix into the appropriate format for pro tools.

However, i cannot figure out how to open up jamstix within pro tools.

Anyone out there managed this or can help me out?

Cheers in advance

Thought its best to elaborate my problems, any help is greatly appreciated!

Basically i am a pro tools user and have recently purchased jamstix, but am struggling to get it running.

I have downloaded and installed all installation files for jamstix, installed them in their own folder, i have run vst to rtas adapter and wrapped jamstix.dll......this is when i get stuck.

Jamstix does not yet show up in pro tools.....what else do i need to do? Do i need to move all the jamstix stuff into the digidesign plug-in folder etc? Do i have to do something special when pro tools is open to get it running?

Any help is appreciated....its driving me mad.

Cheers

I have a computer running Protools M Powered 7.4 and the latest wrapper and it shows and works fine. I haven't really used it, because this is not my main computer, but it shows and runs.

Make sure you have the latest updates for both products.

Willy.

Could i ask for the steps you take to get it working?

Obviously i have my pro tools installed.

So to get jamstix working....i have downloaded all the files and installed the setup.

What do i do from here to get it going?

Thanks for your reply

I do the same thing for RTAS, I create an Instrument Track, then I go to the mixer and in the instrument track I click on the first slot and select INSTRUMENT, then VSTW Jamstix2 (Stereo).

I uploaded a template so you can test if it works, but you must have PT 7.4 and the latest wrapper version (v2.x).

Let me know if this worked for you!

Thanks for that willy, but still no luck.

When i try and load your template it just says error as jamstix is not found in the plugins folder.

What do i need to do.......as when i look in the plugins folder for pro tools jamstix is not there.

(I do have pro tools 7.4, and have wrapped it with VST to RTAS adapter 2.1.

Do i need to do anything special to get jamstix into the plugins folder so pro tools detects it?

Thanks again

Nothing special done here, just ran the wrapper and nothing more.
What are your system specs?

Read here:

Apparently, this combination has not been tested on Vista.

Contact Ralph about this to see if there is some workaround.
