1) I have been having trouble with the keymaps in Jamstix 2. The following is based on my attempts while working with Jamstix2 Funk mapping. Are some notes in the midi keymaps hard-wired to certain notes? For instance, cowbell triggers on G#2, no matter where u assign it (although it also triggers on the note u assign it to), and nothing else that is placed on G#2 makes any sound. Similarly, snare sidestick on G0. Tom 1 always plays on C2 and D2, tom 2 on B1, tom 3 on A1, tom 4 on G1, tom 5 on F1. Kick always set to C1 and B0, snare rimshot on E1, snare bounce on D#1. Hi-hat 25% and 75% seem to work fine (no set note, they just go wherever u assign them). Same for hi-hat 50%, although the default setting of G#2 does not play, as u get a cowbell instead. Hi-hat foot-close set to G#1, ride to D#2. Crash 1 triggers on C#1 and Bb4. Crash 2 on A2, splash 1 on G2. China 1 hard-set to E2, but china 2 works fine.

So, as u can see, i was therfore having a lot of trouble setting up a keymap in BFD2. in the midi log inside BFD2, i would hit a note, like say B1, and it would say i hit C2! I only had this issue when setting up a keymap in jamstix for BFD2. I think it is just a result of the above issue.

None of the keys seem to be able to assign themselves to E4 or F4, u just get silence. This includes the shaker, who is by default set to E4. If u move him to D#4, then u can hear it. Also, drumsticks is mapped by default to Bb4, where the Crash 1 is hard-set, so all u get is crash. Again, this is resolved by moving Drumsticks to an open note, other than E4 or F4.

2) when u click on midi note setting, and get a list of notes in a column, i.e. C2 C#2 D2 etc., if u move down with the scroll wheel, and then hit a midi note on your keyboard, it does not jump to the note. If u click with the mouse, however, on a note, and then hit a different note on midi keyboard, it jumps right to it.

3) In the drum-piece settings, when moving the pan settings on Jam-block Hi, left pan is going to the right, and right-pan goes to the left. Does this have to do with some drummer perspective setting?

4) I moved the DMP knob on the jam-block all the way to the right, it made a funny distorted noise when i played it, and cubase was all messed up afterwards. Other notes were giving me silence or distorted sound, and i just shut it down.

5)In the fill aspect page, setting the T-fill or R-fill knobs all the way to the right gives u no fill at all, rather than 100% (a 4-beat fill).

Sorry about this extremely long post. Most of the above have extremely easy workarounds, but i have as yet been unsuccessful in setting up jamstix with BFD2, due to this keymapping issue. Thanks as always!

Make sure 'Map GM' is unchecked in the 'Drum Module Mode'.

We gotta fix that but it's not too bad of a bug since it is just an extra click on your part.

Yes, you can flip it to listener perspective in the 'Mixer' if you wish.

Don't move the knob all the way right Smile... Will be fixed.

Can't duplicate this here. Can you check this with the latest Beta?

T-fill and R-fill knobs seem to be fine now, u're right. Thanks, with gm map off everything worked great.

This program is really terrific, and i mean that. So thanks.

The other little issues i came across really were not a big deal at all, i just thought they should be reported anyway, just for the sake of working to the goal of perfecting aa awesome pice of software.

Are the Jamstix kits GM or not GM? I couldn't get access to the shaker, even though I was looking at the map and it was telling me a certain midi note number. The sound was loaded - I could click on it on the kit page on the graphic and get sound, but I couldn't get to it through midi.

So, with the supplied Jamstix kits, should the GM option be clicked or not clicked?

Jamstix sounds encompass more than GM allows for. If you are using 'Drum Module Mode', make sure 'Map GM' is unchecked to get full access to the sounds.
