you can now save multiple bars at once (marked by _B1,_B2 etc.). The Jamstix 2 mode of the groove importer auto-detects these and therefore allows multi-bar grooves style

I recorded two bars drum loop and don't know how can I import this to get multi bar grooves style. If I try to import this midi it always use only first bar?

I tried also to edit bars and save them. J asked me how many bars I want to save and if I answered 2 it makes two files B1 and B2 instead of one common file.

Is there any ( other ) way to make two bars groove?

Thanks in advance
Alex

If you save a bar and type in 2 for length you get the B1 file but if you know use the JS2 mode in the groove importer and load the groove (without B1 at the end) then JS2 will be smart enough to see the Bx files and load a multi-bar pattern as desired.

2.2 beta 7.

I just found out the wonderful feature of being able to drag a whole song or a part from JS2 to the sequencer (Cubase 4 here). I was just wondering if JS2 could actually write a midi track directly (as a .mid file), but I guess this solves it. Well ... almost.

This week I also have looked into DFHS with JS2 in more detail and found I had to send the highhat as the note G-2, because JS2 uses CC4 to open/close the highat. A nice feature too. Just one problem:

When I use the drag and drop method the CC4 events are not transferred (dropped). To get those I have to use the JS2 -> midi track recording method.

Is it JS2 or Cubase 4?

That's a JS2 thing. We don't send CC4 in the drag&drop at this time, only per MIDI output.

No CC4 control of hihats means that the drag and drop feature is unuseable. Hihats won't work as intended for many users. I hope you can fix this somehow. I was very happy to find this drag and drop feature. Now I am as unhappy losing it again.

Maybe at the same time, you could let the save functions (bar, part, song) have the option of saving to .mid files. I guess if you can drag and drop midi it is only a small programming effort to add the save option too. But with CC4, of course.

(Despite various problems I highly appreciate JS2, don't forget that)-

Agreed 100%. both in general product appreciation AND in the fact that drag and drop should include CC4, at least as an option, so that one can use drag and drop as an alternative "freeze"; of course you can still record the JS2 output, but drag and drop is more comfortable for me.

I have used JS2 a lot this week, so I uncover one thing after the other. This evening I found that I got too many fill bars (red ones) in places where they should not be. Sometimes like 8 fills in a row. I believe this arose from me adding and deleting parts, but nevertheless. The only way to get rid of all those fills was to remove that part entirely and start again.

... Or am I missing something? Could not find any way to just change the status of a bar from fill to normal.

You can do that by going to the fill, having the FILL tab active in the brain and then hitting the trashcan icon.

Probably what you're doing is hitting recompose on the fills while the song is playing, and accidentally hitting it after it's moved to the next bar. I do that all the time.

Just posted Beta 8, which is now a full installer and not just the DLL.

Just posted Release Candidate 1! Let me know if you find any showstopper issues as I'm eager to push 2.2 out as soon as possible.

Hi,
Since Beta 8 and RC1 I've been noticing an occasional error which is hard to repro.

JS2 is running along fine, then I go to quickstart load a song and it says the file cannot be loaded - can't read the file correctly or somesuch message - sorry but working from memory here.

If I kill reaper and reopen the project I can open the song no problems then.

If it crops up again I'll be sure to screenshot the message box.
