Hey i just finished setting up my new pc and have loaded Reaper and both versions of Jamstix along with Reason Adapted and Freeamp 3. I seem to be getting crackles and pops with both versions of Jamstix, but only when the drum brain is running. In module mode it seems to be ok, whether with myself playing on my trigger pads or with a midi file feeding it.

Everything else seems to work ok, multiple audio tracks with vsts are working fine, as is Reason both standalone and when rewired into Reaper. CPU and memory use seems to be fine, as low as it should be. Will do more testing tomorrow night but need to sleep now as i have to be at work in 6 hours. Just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems?

My pc is:
CPU: intel Q6600
mobo:gigabyte p35-ds3
ram: 2x1Gb Kingston hyperx 800Mhz ddr2 timing at 4-4-4-12
video: asus eah2400 pro
soundcard: m-audio 1010lt
usb devices: akai mpd24, edirol pcr-m50, logitech mx air mouse, and a cheap IR remote.
power supply: antec neoHE 550W

Running latest Reaper and latest Jamstixes!

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Check your ASIO/WDM driver. Make sure you use the best driver available and increase latency if necessary.

I was having similar issues when JS2 first came out...I fixed the problem by disabling "Enable Full Debug Log" on the options page...That seemed to be causing a great amount of Disk IO hence the clicks and pops. At least that worked for me.

thanks for the replies, unfortunately i tried different driver but none would work, may try asio 4 all just to check. I already had the debug option unchecked so unfortunately its not that!

But just now some weird stuff happened... just tried to load the Options menu in Jamstix 2, and got a popup msg saying:

"Error reading cbx.JamC.Items.Strings: Out of system resources"

and options menu wouldn't load. So, i removed that instance and tried to load it again, and the CPU usage on the fx window shot up to just under 1000% in about 100-150% increments and then Reaper crashed.

Any ideas?! beginning to think maybe my ram is screwed.

Please send me the file rzdlog.txt from your Jamstix 2 folder.
