Installing JS2 on alternate HDD... (I have 4 in my DAW)

Starting my DAW all over again fresh installs for everything...

I'm trying to get all my VSTi's onto a a separate physical HDD, and so far so good with others...

I installed JS2 onto my 'alternate' samples HDD like I did with AD, etc... when I opened up Jamstix2 in Cubase, it locked up everything...? I then uninstalled/reinstalled onto my C: HDD and it's fine now...

Can't I install it onto a separae HDD?

Can I now reDIRECT the samples to my OTHER HDD after I installed it?

A friend told me that VSTi's ....

Quote:
you have to look in the program options when you run Jamstix

This implies to me that I CAN redirect the sounds...?

BUT, if so... what's better to install JS2 program on C: drive or my alternate HDD if I want to use my other HDD to it's best?

Thanks, Steve

Keep JS2 on the C drive but move the 'data' folder in the Jamstix2 folder to your alternate drive. Now start Jamstix and it will ask for the new location. That's it.

Excellent, I'll try that, just what I needed to hear. Sounds so easy a cave man can do it...

Some VSTi's install on alternate drives and can open in Cubase, though with Jamstix2 it wouldn't show up in my VST instruments... I moved the JS DLL to my VST plugins folder, which did allow Cubase to open it but I had some strangeness... so C: drive it went onto, and apparently is staying.

Thanks Ralph for your excellent response time Smile
