I had a technical difficulty with JS2 last night - I wanted to start a part at bar 30; a 1-bar intro into the 2nd chorus of a song.

The first 30 bars of the song use a percussion loop for the rhythm track, I wanted JS2 to come in in the middle of the song.

I couldn't find it in the manual.

I ended up automating the output of JS2 and silencing it for the first 30.5 bars.

Surely there must be an easier way to do this, I just couldn't figure out how to do it.

Create an intro in the song sheet with the part menu and set its length to 30 bars.

That's what I did - how can I make sure that it plays nothing the first 29 bars (with a fill on bar 30)? I couldn't figure out how to do that.

Right-click on your intro and make sure it really says 'Intro' under part type. Intros do not produce any groove or accent. If you still have trouble, save Jamstix to a FXB (Save Bank) and send me the file so I can look at that.

I'm not sure that I did this correctly - I can't recall making assigning it 'intro' status. So it probably is just a regular part. I will check tonight. Thanks again for your help.
