I guess after all this time, I'm still not quite understanding how this should function.

If I have a 4 bar part, with 30 repetitions. I compose a part, I like it. But I want the hi-hat on the same beat of each bar to be open, but the brain has it closed....

So I go to the core bars, and assign each note to be open.

Should it be that all of the repetitions follow this edit to the core bar that it is related to? Or is there some other logic that might dictate that it doesn't always apply.

If it doesn't always apply, then I kinda thing the core bar functionality is redundant.

Maybe I just don't get it?

The manual states:

Quote:
You may notice the word ‘IS CORE’ showing above the bar editor. This means that the current
bar is within the first part play-through and not within a repetition. That is important to
consider when manually editing bars because changes to a core bar will affect all its partner
bars in the repetitions of the same part whereas changes to non-core bars do not affect any
other bars.

And this just isn't true.

I've got Danny, and 8th rock. I've got a 4 core bars, and 30 repetitions of that. Bar 5 to 9 are bars that were composed BEFORE I made the core bar changes. So I would think that AFTER I make the changes, these bars would up date themselves.

But they do not.

Bars 10 and onwards DO follow the changes, because they are being composed AFTER I made edits to the core bars.

So how can I make all bars follow the changes, not just ones that haven't been composed yet. If I trigger "recompose groove aspect only" I am liable to just get a totally different groove from the get go.

I guess what I want is a "recompose all bars except core bars" type of methodology, so that I can update the entire part from the core bars, should I decide to change the feel slightly, or move some notes.

Delete bar 5 to 9, maybe (select them and press the garbage bin)...?
What defenitely should work (in fact, this is the 'recompose all bars except core bars' option using a workaround) is set the repetion to 1, start the song for a second or so (all repetitions will be removed), and then set it back to 30. But I'd only do that if you haven't edited the non-core bars somewhere (fills, etc.)
